Annual review and accounts
Our programmes benefit hundreds of thousands of people across Scotland every year, from babies to adults.
Scottish Book Trust's mission is to ensure people living in Scotland have equal access to books. Discover some of the highlights of our work in our Annual Review 2024–25(this link will open in a new window):
- Our Christmas Appeal provided over 100,000 books to children and families in need, through food banks, hospitals, community spaces and other charities.
- Book Week Scotland’s theme of ‘Hope’ saw 862 events and activities take place across the country to bring the joys of reading to life in our communities, and we gifted 65,000 copies of the free book, Scotland’s Stories: Hope, sharing real life stories from the people of Scotland.
- We undertook independent research into the value and impact of public and school libraries in Scotland and published our findings.
- We presented our new Reading Champion Awards to very worthy winners from East Lothian, South Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire, as well as our Bookbug Hero Award to an inspiring Early Years Practitioner from Aberdeenshire.
