Journeys: submit your stories now!

Category: Writing

Have you walked a new path, taken the road less travelled or been faced with a crossroads?

We want to hear about your journeys for our new writing campaign, open for entries now!

The brief

You can choose to write about any journey that has been important to you: this could be a real, physical journey or an emotional or spiritual journey that you’ve taken. It could be the day you stepped out into the unknown, or decided to take a new path, your daily commute or the trip of a lifetime.

Did you end up where you planned to go? Did the experience mark a turn in the road or show you the way forward?

Everyone has a journey they’ve been on and we’d like to hear from seasoned and first-time writers alike. You can write in whichever format you choose – story, letter, poem, play or comic strip.

Entries must be between 500-1000 words and should be a true story. We also welcome entries in Gaelic and Scots.

All submissions that meet the criteria will be published on our website. Our favourite stories will be published in a free book for Book Week Scotland 2015.

Take your first step in writing today! Submit your entries here. Closing date: 5pm Tuesday 30 June.
