The Bookbug Baby pack is a fantastic introduction to sharing books with your child from birth. The pack includes; 2 sturdy board books, a CD of songs and nursery rhymes, 1 buggy book, 1 Play Talk Read DVD, a Bookbug Baby's calendar and a form to sign you up for Bookbug alerts all held within a strong canvas bag. All the items in our packs are carefully selected to encourage reading and writing.

Please note that the canvas bag is for parents and is not suitable for babies to use unattended.
Where can I collect my free Bookbug Baby Pack?
Packs are usually gifted to babies at around 6 – 16 weeks by their health visitor. If you have not received your Bookbug Baby pack, please ask your health visitor or at your local library.
Gifting methods vary in each local authority, so please visit the Local Contacts section of this website for more information about how the Bookbug Baby pack is gifted in your area.
Please note that you do not have to register and you do not have to join the library to receive your Bookbug Baby Pack.

- Canvas Bag – a high-quality, ethically produced and environmentally friendly canvas shoulder bag.
- Two board books – bright, durable and safe for little hands and mouths!
- Bookbug Baby's Calendar – as well as being a lovely calendar that you can use to plan your year, the publication includes lots of reading tips, book recommendations and tips from play@home and Ready Steady Baby. The calendar also includes baby record pages for you to record your baby's firsts and favourites.
- Bookbug’s Songs and Rhymes CD – a wonderful collection of different songs and rhymes to enjoy with your baby. This year’s CD also includes new songs by the fantastic Julia Donaldson. The songs and rhymes found on this CD can also be heard at your local Bookbug Session.
- Out and About buggy book – a colourful buggy book with lots of things to spot when you are out with your baby. The book can be clipped on to your buggy or pram. Produced in partnership with Road Safety Scotland.
- Play Talk Read DVD – Watch the DVD to find out more about the Play Talk Read and the other free resources available for you and your baby.
- Bookbug Alert Form – Sign up to receive emails from Bookbug recommending books and reminding you when your next Bookbug pack is due. You can also register on-line for Bookbug Alerts.
