Moray Council logoOverview

The successful delivery of all 3 Bookbug packs in Moray is achieved through a strong network comprising Health Visitors, Sure Start Nursery Nurses, managers and staff of nurseries and partner playgroups.

Bookbug Pack Gifting

The Bookbug Baby Packs are distributed to parents by their Health Visitor at the 6 – 16 week check.

The Bookbug Toddler packs are also distributed to parents by their Health Visitor.

The Bookbug pirate Packs are distributed to 3 year olds through nurseries and other early years settings.

Moray libraries hold a small stock of Bookbug packs for those who have missed out on their pack.

Bookbug’s Library Challenge

Bookbug’s Library Challenge, a free programme where pre-school children can collect certificates in return for borrowing books from the library, runs in all libraries throughout Moray.  Each child is given their own Bookbug’s Library Challenge collector card which will be dated each time they visit the library and borrow books on their own ticket. When they have visited 6 times they will receive a lovely limited edition certificate.

Bookbug Sessions

Within Moray, free Bookbug Sessions are held in each of the five main libraries across the authority.  Bookbug Sessions are fun, free events for children aged birth to four and their parents, incorporating songs, rhymes, books and play.
