Overview

Bookbug in North Ayrshire is based with the Children’s Department under Information and Culture within Springvale Resource Centre in Saltcoats.

 

Bookbug Pack Gifting

The Bookbug Baby Pack is gifted via Health Visitors at approximately 4 months of age.

The Bookbug Toddler pack is gifted by Health Visitors at 12 months.

The Bookbug Pirate Pack is gifted via the child’s Early Years Establishment by the end of their Ante-Pre School year.

 

Bookbug’s Library Challenge

Bookbug’s Library Challenge is held in all North Ayrshire Libraries including the mobile library which visits rural areas, from February until November and children can collect their certificates from the branch staff once they have completed a collector’s card. Join your child up to the library today (they’re never too young to join!) so that they can start collecting their stickers and limited edition certificates.

 

Bookbug Sessions

Bookbug Sessions are free and fun, singing songs and rhymes and telling stories for all children under 5 years old accompanied by their parents/carers.

Regular Bookbug Sessions are held in 16 of the 17 North Ayrshire Libraries, The Heritage Centre, Saltcoats and The Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine. Sessions run up to one hour long, including opportunities to play and share local information
