In January 2018, author and illustrator John Fardell retoured with the Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour as part of our 20th Anniversary Tour celebrations. John visited schools across Northern Ireland for a week of exciting school events! 

Mrs Lalor, Principal Teacher, attended a Twilight course at the start of the academic year where we were advised that we were 1 of 10 schools chosen to take part in Shared Reading in East Dunbartonshire Council. Holy Trinity was delighted to be involved in this initiative.

Sunnyside Paired Reading Project

Pupils, teachers and parents at Sunnyside Primary School in Clackmannanshire took part in a paired-reading project for the launch of the Bookbug Picture Books that were issued to the children in December 2017.

In St John’s Primary School, South Ayrshire, our Primary 6 children have recently taken part in a fantastic shared reading project. It has been a very successful project in our class and around the school. We have started a reading journey and have been involved in lots of activities.

Our project began when Stirling Council hosted a training session earlier this session which was delivered by Scottish Book Trust. I attended the event and was shown a variety of picture books, including the

Ainsley Rogers, Primary 4 class teacher from Castleton Primary School in Castlemilk, Glasgow, took part in our Schools Champion programme in 2017. Inspired by Nicola Davies' Authors Live event, Ainsley's class explored the ocean during an excellent, cross-curricular project.
