2018-19 School Residencies

Scottish Book Trust is delighted to announce the ten schools awarded fully funded author residencies in 2018-19, and the authors, storytellers and creators who have been appointed to work with their pupils.

The schools were chosen by an expert panel to receive:

  • 12 sessions with an author at no cost – including two staff CLPL sessions with the author
  • A £500 grant for resources and supplies
  • Support from Scottish Book Trust’s experienced team
  • Their project showcased on our website, as well as suggested learning resources and next steps after the project to help the school and learning professionals make the most of the sessions

The full list of schools receiving fully funded author residencies are:

  • Gigha Primary School, in Argyll and Bute, will work with John Fardell
  • Loudoun Academy, in East Ayrshire, will work with Neil Slorance
  • Forrester High School, in Edinburgh, will work with Victoria Williamson
  • Kirkcaldy High School, in Fife, will work with Mark Fleming
  • Annette Street Primary, in Glasgow, will work with Emily Dodd
  • Smithycroft Secondary School, in Glasgow, will work with Chris McQueer
  • All Saints Primary School, in Inverclyde, will work with Juliette Forrest
  • Cumbrae Primary School, in North Ayrshire, will work with Gerry Cambridge
  • Spittal Primary School, in South Lanarkshire, will work with Linda Strachan
  • Letham Primary School, in West Lothian, will work with Martin Stewart
