Here you will find all the information you need in order to take part in The Scottish Teenage Book Prize or The Bookbug Picture Book Prize with pupils in your library.

The Scottish Teenage Book Prize

The Scottish Teenage Book Prize is a new award from Scottish Book Trust. It aims to encourage reading for pleasure amongst teenagers and celebrate the very best in Scottish teen fiction. The winning book is voted for entirely by pupils in schools and libraries across Scotland.

21 August 2018: Shortlist announced

7 February 2019: Voting deadline. This is also the deadline for entering our exciting Book Trailer and Graphic Novel competitions

27 February 2019: Winner announced

 

How to take part

If you run a book group in your library and would like to get involved, follow these simple steps:

Register

Click here to sign up your book group online. 

Read

Enjoy reading the three shortlisted books.

Discuss

Have fun exploring the books using our resources and videos. We also have a video with each shortlisted author reading from their book and answering some questions.

Vote

All votes should be submitted online, using the voting form created when you registered. Once you have registered, you can cast your votes at any time up to the deadline of 7 February 2019 at 5pm.

Simply log into your Scottish Book Trust account and click on the 'projects' tab in your user profile. Here you will see a list of projects you have participated in. Click on the voting link for The Scottish Teenage Book Prize 2017 to access your voting form. Fill in the number of votes for each book and click to submit the votes.

Please note that you must submit all votes for your group at the same time. If you need to change the number of votes you have, please email rosie.sim@scottishbooktrust.com before attempting to vote. Please do not make a second registration.

 

The Bookbug Picture Book Prize

The Bookbug Picture Book Prize celebrates the very best Scottish picture books and encourages reading for pleasure in nurseries, primary schools and libraries across the country. The winning picture book is voted for entirely by children across Scotland.

The voting deadline for the 2019 winner has closed. Over 17,000 children across Scotland voted for their favourite, and now it's time to find out who won! You can find the announcement video here
