Read, Write, Count: Primary 7 Transition

In 2019, every Primary 7 pupil across the nine Scottish Attainment Challenge Authorities will receive a Moving Up kit to help with the transition between primary and secondary school. Included in the kit will be a guide for parents with useful links and activity ideas. The kits will be supported by printed and online resources for schools, including ideas for events and activities to support transition.

This project will be supported by outreach and there will be the opportunity for learning professionals and other relevant practitioners to access training or information events to support both the gifting and sustained use of the resources during the transition phase. There will be a particular focus on bringing primary and secondary schools together to work with the resources, and on Read, Write, Count family engagement projects.

Our information document for parents, created in association with National Parent Forum Scotland, is available to download.
