Register and Vote for STBP 2017


The Scottish Teenage Book Prize is a new award from Scottish Book Trust. It aims to encourage reading for pleasure amongst teenagers and celebrate the very best in Scottish teen fiction. The winning book is voted for entirely by pupils in schools and libraries across Scotland.


The voting deadline has now passed, and we look forward to announcing the winning book in a special video on 1 March 2017!

5 September 2016: Shortlist launched

17 February 2017: Voting deadline. Also the deadline for entering our exciting competitions.

1 March 2017: Winner announced



How to Take Part

Learning professionals and librarians around Scotland sign their pupils up to read and vote for the shortlisted books.

Taking part is very simple, just follow these steps:



Sign up your class or book group online.


Enjoy reading the three shortlisted books. Books can be purchased from any bookseller or borrowed from your local library.


Have fun with creative learning by using our free accompanying learning resources. We also have a video with each shortlisted author reading from their book and answering some questions.


Once you have registered, you can cast your votes at any time up to the deadline of 17 February 2017 at 5pm.
