Scottish Teenage Book Prize

The Scottish Teenage Book Prize is a new book award from Scottish Book Trust. The award aims to encourage reading for pleasure amongst teenagers and celebrate the very best in Scottish teen fiction. The winning book is voted for entirely by pupils in schools and libraries across Scotland.

17 February 2017: Voting deadline. Also the deadline for entering our exciting competitions

1 March 2017: Winner announced

 

How to take part

Learning professionals across Scotland will be able to sign their pupils up to read and vote for the shortlisted books.

Taking part is very simple, just follow these steps:

Register

From 5 September, you can sign up your class or book group online.

Read

Enjoy reading the three shortlisted books. Books can be purchased from any local retailer or borrowed from your local library.

Discuss

Have fun with creative learning by using our free accompanying learning resources. We also have a video with each shortlisted author reading from their book and answering some questions.

Vote

All votes should be submitted online, using the voting form created when you registered. Once you have registered, you can cast your votes at any time up to the deadline of 17 February 2017 at 5pm.

Simply log into your Scottish Book Trust account and click on the 'projects' tab in your user profile. Here you will see a list of projects you have participated in. Click on the voting link for The Scottish Teenage Book Prize 2017 to access your voting form. Fill in the number of votes for each book and click to submit the votes.

Please note that you must submit all votes for your group at the same time. If you need to change the number of votes you have, please email sarah.mallon@scottishbooktrust.com before attempting to vote. Please do not make a second registration.
