Join us for a stroll through Murton Trust Nature Reserve, with pauses along the way for a story, or a poem or two. What will we see, hear and smell? Trees, birds - maybe a Gruffalo? If the weather is not on our side we can shelter for storytime, in the Murton teepee. Stay for lunch in the tearoom, or bring a picnic and nourish yourselves in the wild outdoors!
A day long programme of activities in the Reid Hall, for readers of all ages! Including special Bookbug sessions, a cookery and tasting session by Fiona Bird, plus a chance to meet children's author Alison Murray, and adult author James Oswald . Peruse the books for sale, learn how to download e-resources, explore our local history and heritage, see 3D printing in action or join in a craft activity, and much, much more.
A nourishing day at Hospitalfield House to celebrate Book Week Scotland, with food for the mind and body. We'll be meandering through the grounds, exploring themes of growing, cooking, art and heritage, followed by a delicious lunch prepared in the kitchens of the house, whose history goes all the way back to the 13th century. Inspired by this sensory smorgasbord of activities, you'll be invited to cook up your own main course in poetry or prose, with Writing Practice, Study staff and students from the University of Dundee.
Come along and nourish your senses at The Flower Pavilion: a wonderful oasis that has breathed life into an old municipal bowling green builiding. You can almost hear the click of the bowls that once graced the green, and take a peek into the wee wooden lockers, once used for storing the bowls. Your hosts will guide you through an afternoon of book browsing, as well as some lush, seasonal, artistic flower arrangements. All with a welcome glass of something seasonal!
