Author details

Eric Brennan

I tell folk and fairy tales and legends from around the world, giving each story a particularly Scottish flavour. Often fantastical, always humorous, my tales enthral young and old alike.

I have told regularly to children, including pre-school age groups, and am equally comfortable telling to adults and young people. I also enjoy passing on storytelling skills through workshops for librarians, nursery nurses and teachers, among others.

Born and raised in Glasgow, with Scottish and Irish antecedents, I have worked for many years in early literacy projects, developing my skills in storytelling to pre-school and primary age children. My previous experience in community work and drama has given me the opportunity to work with groups of all ages.

I have told stories in many settings, including nurseries, schools, libraries, theatres and pubs, and I am a regular contributor at the Guid Crack Club in Edinburgh.

About writer's work

I am happy to provide storytelling sessions for all ages. In school settings, these can tie in with themes currently being examined by classes. I have also previously organized sessions which promote particular events or activities within libraries.

I also facilitate workshop sessions on storytelling and story creating.
