My first collection of poetry, This Far Back Everything Shimmers, was shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish Poetry Book of the Year 2016. The book juxtaposes the minutiae of everyday life against our vast and curious universe. It explores themes of astronomy, art, physics, ageing and looks at the natural world from unusual angles. Time is counted in astronomical, geological, evolutionary and human timescales as well as in leap seconds.

My poems have been widely published, anthologised and have won prizes in international competitions. My latest work is a pamphlet length poem about cycling in the Norwegian Arctic Circle that incorporates Norse myth, the Norwegian language and landscape.

I have experience of teaching, running workshops and talks. I enjoy collaborations, and would welcome collaborative projects with any artistic practitioner or professional discipline. (Photo credit: S Motherwell)
