Author details

Elizabeth McKay

As well as working part-time in a day centre for adults with learning disabilities I write short stories and articles for magazines. In 2011 my first picture was published by Picture Kelpies. I love reading, chocolate and dogs. My favourite book is ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’.

About writer's work

I have had hundreds of stories and articles published in mainstream magazines, both in the UK and overseas. My first children’s book, Wee Granny’s Magic Bag was published in September 2011 by Picture Kelpies (Floris). I hope this will be the first of many picture books. I also run workshops in creative writing and have adjudicated many writers’ club competitions.

Current events and projects

Available to speak to writers’ groups, schools, libraries, conferences. I run workshops in creative writing and am available to adjudicate writing competitions.
