From its earliest days, Britain has attracted immigrants from all over the world, who have brought with them their cuisines and customs and helped transform the country into the vibrant, multicultural place it is today. This week sees two of the biggest celebrations of Britain's diversity: The Edinburgh Mela and the Notting Hill Carnival in London.
