Emerging Programmers Fund
Have you always fancied putting on a Book Week Scotland event, but haven’t given it a shot yet? Has the theme, Conversation, caught your attention? Are you a group, charity or organisation with a team of should-be event programmers? Maybe you’ve organised an event before, and would like your next one to focus on reading and writing? Are you a book lover who wants to make a leap from page to mates?
Sounds like you’d be a brilliant Book Week Scotland Emerging Programmer.
As an emerging programmer you’ll receive £500 to run your own Book Week Scotland event, dedicated support from the Reading Communities team, and opportunities to meet, and work with, professionals in the literary sector.
This year we’re switching it up. No matter your age or background, we want to support some great events by people who have a blossoming love of event programming. There are 2 ways to apply this year:
- As an individual. Programmers who will be working independently can apply as an individual programmer solely, or as an individual programmer working with a host organisation.
- As a group. Programmers who will be working together as a group can apply as an independent group, or with a host organisation.
Important information on how to apply, and how the funding will be released, can be found in the Guide to Apply. If you’ve programmed events before, or don’t feel you need the additional support provided to Emerging Programmers, you might want to apply for the Book Week Scotland partners fund instead. There is no restriction on applying to multiple funds.
If you would rather fill in your application over the phone, or speak through an application prior to filling it out, please contact email@example.com, or phone 0131 524 0130 to arrange.
Please note, all phone call application appointments must be requested by Friday 17 May.
Deadline for all applications is Friday 24 May, 5pm.
