The Amulet of Samarkand

Against his will, djinni Bartimaeus is packed off by Nathaniel, a young magician's apprentice, to steal the powerful Amulet of Samarkand from master magician Simon Lovelace. Before long, both djinni and apprentice are caught up in a terrifying flood of magical intrigue, murder and rebellion.
