‘How ghastly,’ thought Zoe, eyebrows hung like a washing line. “Perhaps we’ll come back later?” to a nod from her friend.
Zoe marvelled at their perfect harmony of opinion.

Dimàirt, ’s gu fortanach chan eil feum agam a bhith dhol a-mach. Dìreach nam laighe gu leisg, a’ coimhead air sgàilean a’ chraoibh-chaorainn aig Iain, ’s ag èisteachd ri ceòl nan innealan-thogail aig an àrd-sgoil ùr ... seòrsa reothadh orm san fhuachd: a’ feitheamh ... an-diugh bidh fios againn.
