Young writers (12–18) winner
Isla Ballantyne, 13
Fire crackles. Sharing stories about a fae in the woods. Well of dreams was this fae’s thing. Hope and faith flowed. Many gathered to see the well from the northern hill to eastern loch. Bells rang and people danced where the well was filled. By tonight it might run out.
Young writers (5–11) winner
Aidan Samuel, 11
The light she used every day suddenly died. She took it to a charity shop where it sat in the front window, watching people walk past. One day a man walked in and stated, 'What an intriguing light, can I buy it?' A spark of hope ignited throughout the light.

Everyone has hope, although some don’t use it! It is always there, waiting. It helps you at even the darkest points of your life, it encourages you. You should keep hope at the forefront of your mind every day of your life.
