Annual review and accounts
Our programmes benefit hundreds of thousands of people across Scotland every year, from babies to adults.
Scottish Book Trust's mission is to ensure people living in Scotland have equal access to books. Discover some of the highlights of our work in our Annual Review 2023–24(this link will open in a new window):
- Our Christmas Appeal provided over 50,000 books to children and families in need, through food banks, hospitals, community spaces and other charities.
- We celebrated fifteen years of the New Writers Awards, which has been making an enormous impact on the publishing industry since 2009 – supporting 189 awardees and publishing 190 titles to date.
- Book Week Scotland’s theme of ‘adventure’ was brought to life through Scotland’s Stories, an annual writing opportunity showcasing a collection of true short stories from people all over Scotland. We gifted 70,000 copies of the free book, Adventure, as well as partnering with RNIB Scotland to provide an audio version.
- We presented our Bookbug Hero and Learning Professional Awards to very worthy winners from Mull and Renfrewshire.
