Open Book

Marjorie Lotfi and Claire Urquhart founded Open Book in March 2013 to run shared reading and creative writing sessions for adults. A bit of fiction and a poem are read aloud and discussed - like traditional book group but without any homework or preparation. In the creative writing groups the texts are used as a springboard for writing. We work in a number of sectors - in libraries, health care settings, prisons, with the elderly, refugees and migrants, community groups, and on Scottish islands. Our groups read in English, Scots, Gaelic and Arabic.
