As I'm so fond of animals, my work always seems to centre around them and they provide me with the inspiration for my stories. Hedgehogs in particular are one of my favourite wild animals and, with their numbers decreasing rapidly, I believe the best way to help protect them is to ensure that future generations learn about their habits and habitats and ways to preserve their environment.

Children love hedgehogs, which makes it both enjoyable and rewarding to read the story of Hoglet's adventure through Tumbly Wood to classes. After reading excerpts from the story, I usually give a short talk about hedgehogs followed by a question and answer session at the end of the event. I always like to donate a copy of my book to any schools I visit to ensure that every child, whether they can afford their own copy or not, has the opportunity of reading the story.
