I am an Edinburgh based children’s book author. I have also taught primary school for over ten years in multiple countries and am extremely used to working with groups of children and skilled at tailoring for different needs. I try to ensure that my stories are as factually accurate as possible to present real information in a playful way. My picture book, Dugie the Dinosaur, is based on real fossils found on the Isle of Skye and is the first children’s book to have been published about Scottish dinosaurs.

I have worked with various festivals presenting and chairing events including Edinburgh International Book Festival, Borders Book Festival and Wigtown Book Festival.  I have been interviewed about my writing on BBC Radio Scotland (Good Morning Scotland) and profiled in The National, Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News, and Sun newspapers.

It has also been a great privilege to work with PAMIS (the only organisation in Scotland that works solely with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families) and the Arts End of Somewhere to create a multi-sensory version of Dugie to bring the story to life for a diversity of readers.
