Ash Dickinson's headshot

My name's Ash Dickinson, I'm proud to be one of the busiest and most rebooked poets in education. I worked with many schools in 2022-23, delivering workshops on a range of topics. Full-time as a poet since 2008, I was a case study in the Bloomsbury-published classroom aid, 'Making Poetry Happen'. Being invited to showcase my workshops at Heads of English conferences for Hertfordshire, Devon, Cheshire, Hull and to the Rugby Group was recognition of my skills and knowledge. I'm four-times published, a multiple slam champion (including BBC Radio, Edinburgh, Cheltenham Festival), I've performed all over the world and headlined many shows and festivals throughout the UK.

I'm in heavy demand to run poetry workshops and talks in education (primary and junior schools, secondary schools, colleges, special needs, international schools), through art education (libraries, museums, prisons) and with adult writing groups.

Nurturing imaginations and helping someone find their voice (I like my workshops to be interactive) is a great passion of mine. Creating a fun, relaxed environment allows this creativity to blossom. I'm a firm believer in the cathartic, therapeutic power of poetry. It's a wonderful outlet for health and wellbeing.
