I am a professional journalist and author. I worked as a staff reporter, feature writer and cinema editor for The Scotsman over 17 years and subsequently wrote for national and international publications, including regularly for The Guardian and The Times. I was twice Britain’s Film Journalist of the Year and my work was used by the Scottish Examination Board. I have worked as a presenter on radio and been part of review and award panels. My books include biographies of Ewan McGregor and Mel Gibson (after being closely involved with Braveheart and attending the Oscars), the novel The Man in the Seventh Row and The Times on Cinema. I have spoken at a number of book festivals and events.
