I felt motivated to write my first novel after my first short story was published in a Scottish Book Trust anthology; The Storytellers was published in May 2022. It examines the nature of love and explores themes of toxic relationships, grief, and self-esteem

I also have articles published in mainstream media including The Telegraph and Women and Home. Alongside my book blog I also write a monthly review column for a local community newspaper. I am a First Reader of submissions for the #Revpit international writing competition.

In my previous career as a secondary school teacher and headteacher I instituted several community marketing enterprises widely covered in the local press, including ‘Pay it Forward’, a high-street store run by school pupils, and ‘The Apprentice’, a version of the popular television programme with schoolchildren as participants and the local MP in the Alan Sugar role. Building on that early experience I have developed my skills in online marketing, including social media engagement and the creation of professional relationships.

My recent events include online and face-to-face talks with diverse groups, including writing groups. I also organized and hosted book launches for two leading debut authors. I am available for author talks and workshops.
