Ceitidh Hutton is an awarding winner children’s writer and storyteller. Her books featuring the character Grumpa are loved by many. Her storytelling of traditional tales are woven so children can relate them to their surroundings and folklore. The age and stage of the audience and their fluency in English or Gaelic, will determine the makeup of the event. Writer or storytelling visits can feature puppets, songs or craft. Events can be through English, Gaelic or a combination of the two. GME (Gaelic Medium Education) visits are through the medium of Gaelic. Whether it is a book event or the telling of a traditional tale, the emphasis is always on fun and enjoyment.

 

Ceitidh has extensive experience of working with children and parents - from pre-school, and primary, to young adult groups and additional needs. All levels of fluency are considered in their first or additional languages.

 

As well as pre-school and school visits Ceitidh runs Gaelic Bookbug at various venues in the Highlands. She has also taken part in a variety of events and festivals over the years, including; Gaelic Open Days, Gaelic Awareness Days, Book Day Events, Bookbug Weeks, and appeared at number of Book Festivals and Fèisean.
