Christopher Priest's headshot

I have published 16 novels and five short story collections in many countries around the world, including the UK and the USA. My subjects are varied - including WWII, stage magic, psychology - but the approach is always speculative.

I was on the inaugural Best of Young British Authors in 1983. I have won multiple literary awards in both the UK and other countries. My novel The Prestige was filmed by Warner Bros, and directed by Christopher Nolan.

I have appeared at many literary festivals around the world, including UK (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cheltenham, Cambridge, Oxford) and countries such as Israel, Ukraine, Australia, Mexico and France. I am an 'English Scot', now living permanently in Scotland. (Photo credit: Nina Allan)
