Daniel Gray
From author residencies to one-off talks, workshops with teenagers to debates about political ideology with prisoners, I love doing live events. I have had eight books published.
Taking ideas from my work and providing stimulating, creative, inclusive sessions has become my favourite thing about being a professional writer. These sessions can include practical tips, creative writing, history-based exercises, celebrating in prose the simple joys of life based on my 'delights' series of booksanything, really.
As well as being an author and enthusiastically delivering around 30 events and workshops per year, I am a copywriter, BBC screenwriter, researcher, TV presenter, event chair, podcaster, and video maker. All of these skills can be used to tailor a Live Literature session suitable to whatever you require.
Over the last decade I have given talks in hundreds of venues from pubs to prisons, and run workshops for attendees from primary kids to pensioners. From 2016 to 2018, I was writer in residence across five Scottish new towns for the Edinburgh International Book Festival. I am very interested in new community engagement projects and proposals, as well, of course, as one-off sessions and events.
