I am a writer and storyteller, and my first book, The Bone Cave: A Journey through Myth and Memory, was published by Birlinn in 2023. I also write for online journal Bella Caledonia, and for The Dark Mountain Project. My essay, ‘At Dairmaid’s Grave’ was included in Antlers of Water: Writing on the Nature and Environment of Scotland.
I have a background in the study of folklore, with an MA from the University of Edinburgh, and have given talks, told stories and run workshops at various festivals and events. Much of my work, whether written or performed, is inspired by the natural and cultural ecology of Scotland’s remote and wild places. I also work with organisations such as Wild Journeys and Three Streams to facilitate wholehearted encounters with those places.
