Douglas Lipton's headshot

I am a poet writing chiefly in English with a Scots accent. My work has been translated into Romanian, French and Spanish. I have published numerous books, and my work has been featured in magazines and anthologies at home and overseas. My interests include nature and animals, politics and human rights, people, travel, bereavement, cinema, visual art, music, humour and dreams. I was, for most of my professional life, a teacher working in additional support for learning (including working with children from overseas), and have subsequently done similar work in F.E.

As a poet, I have undertaken workshops and projects - singly and collaboratively - with primary and secondary school-aged children, community groups, artists in other creative fields (musicians, painters/printmakers, composers, singers) and adults with mental health problems. I am very interested in the creative process.
