Gordon Brown's headshot

I live in Scotland and I’m married with two children. I’ve been writing since my teens and have six crime and thriller books published to date – in the UK and the USA. The seventh, Highest Lives, the fourth in the Craig McIntyre series, will be published in October 2019. I also helped found Bloody Scotland – Scotland's International Crime Writing Festival.

I regularly present to audiences, large and small. I’m available to do readings and chairing with a wide range of such activity behind me – such as Bloody Scotland, Tidelines, Aye Write, Granite Noir, Newcastle Noir, Xabia Negra, Left Coast Crime and various book groups and libraries.

I have also been involved in creating stand-alone events. For example, since 2016, I have been working with three authors - Douglas Skelton, Mark Leggat and Neil Broadfoot - on a show called Four Blokes in Search of a Plot where we construct a story live with the audience.

I am also a creativity trainer – having operated under the Brain Juice brand for over 15 years. This is a course designed to aid individuals to improve their creative thought and action.
