Helen Forbes lives in Inverness. Her latest thriller, Queen of Grime, the first in a series featuring an Edinburgh crime scene cleaner, was published in December 2022. She has also published a prequel novella, Spoils of the Dead, and two other standalone thrillers, Deception and Unravelling. Helen’s work as a social welfare lawyer has influenced many of the themes in her work.
Helen’s police procedural crime novels, In the Shadow of the Hill and Madness Lies, featuring DS Joe Galbraith, are set in Inverness and the Outer Hebrides.
Helen has also written contemporary and historical fiction, and short stories. She is interested in island communities and the Gaelic language.
