After studying Fine Art, Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art and Royal College of Art, Jill became an illustrator specialising in natural history subjects. She illustrated four ecology books written for children by David Bellamy, and then became an author herself. She wrote and illustrated eight Windy Edge Farm stories, and also illustrated Songbird Story, written by Michael Rosen.
Jill lives near Stirling, and is passionate about the natural environment, flora and fauna, gardens and growing food and sustainability. There are other stories relating to these subjects in Jill's repertoire which remain unpublished as yet!
Events for younger children include storytelling and art workshops, and for older primary classes, an illustrated talk about the process of writing and illustrating a book from initial idea to finished article.
