I'm a widely published poet, living in Gullane, East Lothian. I like doing readings and talking about poetry. I write many different styles of poetry and have an interest in traditional forms and light verse.

My work has been published for over 35 years, in magazines, over 40 anthologies, on TV and radio and in five collections. I've read throughout Scotland, including at StAnza, the Scottish Poetry Library and at the Scottish Parliament. I've taught my poetry in practice classes at Edinburgh University for 25 years. In September 2019, PiP will transfer to the Scottish Poetry Library. I was the SAC writer in residence for Stirling District (1989-1991) and Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow at Napier and at Edinburgh University (2001-2002, 2002-2007).

I was a member of Edinburgh's Shore Poets from 2002-2010, and was involved in arranging monthly events with readings and music. I have wide experience in running workshops and judging competitions, and was tutor to Denny Writers and Falkirk Writers' Circle.
