John Barrington's headshot

I am a retired hill shepherd. As a profession, I tended to 1,000 sheep, grazing four square miles of Perthshire mountain. Now I am a published author, journalist and traditional storyteller.

Each week I present three 60 minute sessions in whisky, wine and gin. Twice a week I lead walks (with stories) for Loch Lomond National Park, and I was used as a motivational speaker by the Scottish rugby squad in the lead up to the 2015 World Cup. I am a volunteer with Trossachs Search and Rescue team. I am a first responder with the Scottish ambulance service.
