I teach English and tai chi, and write stories and poetry in Scots and English. I have also written critical works on Neil Gunn and Bob Dylan. In 1979 I was a founding editor of Cencrastusmagazine and am currently one of the editors of Southlightmagazine. I have translated A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night into Scots and am interested in using Scots to explore classic literature. The Chinese classic Monkey has also been put into Scots.
I am available for readings and for workshops. As an English teacher I am used to working with groups of young people. I can help generate creative work for folios. I am interested in exploring themes like memory, family and people in landscapes in workshops. I am also interested in developing new writers' confidence. (Photo credit: Roger A. Lever)
