Kevin MacNeil's headshot

Kevin is a multi-award-winning, widely published and broadcast writer who has taught and performed internationally. He has written six books (novels, poetry, aphorisms) and edited six books (including works by Robert Louis Stevenson and Iain Crichton Smith), plus he has written for cinema, stage, radio and television. He has taught internationally and is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at University of Stirling.

Kevin is happy to read from his work or teach workshops. As befits a versatile writer, Kevin can offer workshops with a wide variety of specialities, from dialogue to haiku to short stories to film structure to the factors that make one a better human being and a better writer simultaneously (empathy, awareness, etc) to novel-writing masterclasses. Kevin has taught people from diverse backgrounds at community level including residential writing courses, and in universities, prisons, etc. He has taught writing skills to people who have endured mental health issues and to care experienced young adults and is often invited back to such groups for follow-up classes.
