I am a writer, poet, small press publisher, researcher, and tai-chi teacher, as well as Scottish Convener for LAPIDUS - the words wellbeing organisation training people to facilitate writing-reading-storytelling groups within health and social care settings. I facilitate a therapeutic writing group for the Maggie Centre. edit Move on Up (stories of hope and recovery from addiction, commissioned by the Addiction Team, Greater Glasgow Health Board), and work with MindRemindRemember, a collaborative project with sculptor and lettercarver, Ian Newton. Here, we wrote epitaphs and warnings for extinct and endangered plants and animals. I am an arts and health consultant for a feasibility study, Arts on Prescription, for the Greater Glasgow Health Board, and Better Health for Men, a feasibility study throughout Scotland commissioned by the Health Education Board for Scotland.

I also lead week-long writing retreats combined with movement, chikung and tai-chi - every movement in tai-chi is a metaphor. I like leading Rengas (collaborative poetry events).
