I am a musician, singer-songwriter and writer from Inverness, working for many years with Fèisean and arts organisations teaching music with all ages, from pre-school to adult learners, on many diverse projects. I have full Disclosure for working with children.

I have been commissioned to compose music, song and text for several independent projects, including writing The Musician’s Storyflower by Ablekids Press. The book – about my experience of growing flowers for someone special, with accompanying tunes for young learners - was published in 2023 and incorporates aspects of nature, environment, family story, emotions, history, as well as the sowing, planting out and growing processes. The text is aimed at children of mid-upper primary level (workshops can be readily devised for younger children) and being in diary format with many illustrations and photographs, it is perhaps a little more accessible for reluctant readers

I am available to do workshops based on The Musician’s Storyflower. Workshops would be hands-on as well as aimed at reading and writing and would include planting (Autumn/Winter bulbs, Spring seeds), making children’s own diaries and writing first instalments. I would provide the necessary materials and seeds/bulbs/pots etc. I can also include live music if desired.
