Lucy Ribchester's headshot

I'm a novelist, short story writer, journalist and tutor, and my writing spans a diverse range of time periods and subjects. My novels are historical crime, my short stories are mysteries, modern tales, surreal fantasies and odes to the past, and all of my writing is influenced by my experience as a dance writer.

I love leading workshops, particularly with emerging readers and writers, and on creating vibrant and vivid characters and settings in which stories can come alive. I have worked with many different groups, including in community centres, prisons, schools and as part of Scottish Book Trust's annual story projects. If you are interested in hearing about writing, fiction research, or my experiences in being published, or if your group wants to springboard a new creating writing project, I'd love to hear from you.
