Moira Forsyth's headshot

I'm a writer and editor. As an author, I explore the tensions and dramas of parents and children, brothers and sisters, love and marriage. With a strong sense of place, in houses and landscapes that influence, nourish or keep captive the people within them, my novels chart the power of those who are absent or missing to disrupt the lives of those who stayed behind.

I have led workshops with a wide range of people, including senior school pupils, women returning to work, reminiscence groups, young people in prison, and writers' groups. Sessions range from beginning to write to novel masterclasses and preparing for publication. I have given detailed feedback on both fiction and non-fiction, and can provide structural editing for writers who need more substantive support. In my role as an editor, as well as an author, I've interviewed authors and artists, participated in panel discussions, given readings and spoken in public to audiences large and small.
