Patricia Ace's headshot

I am a primarily a poet but I have also written and published short stories and am currently writing my first novel. I write about families, motherhood, relationships, the natural world, spirituality and the lived experience of women. I studied English and Drama at Goldsmiths, London and Glasgow universities and hold a MLitt in Creative Writing (with Distinction) from the University of Glasgow's highly respected Creative Writing programme.

I am presently working on a new full collection of poems about my maternal ancestry in the Caribbean and a couple of shorter collections, which address themes including loss, ageing, feminism and the transformative, healing power of nature.

I am an experienced and compelling performer and have read my work over many years and in a variety of settings. I have also taught creative writing workshops for both adults in the community and teenagers in schools. My day job, as a yoga teacher and therapist, has brought me into contact with a wide range of individuals and inspired an interest in helping others to realise their unique potential, something I feel can be aided by facilitating a link with their own creativity.
