Russel D McLean is the author of several crime novels, and short stories across a number of genres. His debut The Good Son was shortlisted for best first novel by the Private Eye Writers of America. He also works as a freelance development editor with a variety of publishers, and has taught workshops on writing genre fiction for writer's groups and university courses. For two years, he wrote a crime fiction column for the Sunday Herald. In 2018/19, he was part of the Scottish Film Talent Network's Write4Film course.
