Samuel Tongue
I am a poet, editor, and workshop leader, with a primary focus on ecological writing. I have been invited to read at many festivals and poetry events, including StAnza, Shore Poets, St Mungo's Mirrorball and Edinburgh International Book Festival. I have planned and delivered a number of writing workshops, especially in generative writing and nature writing, including Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh and the Bethany Trust for Homeless and Vulnerably Housed People.
I am also keen to help other readers perform and, through the experience developed in the Clydebuilt Plus project on which I am leading, I am able to assist other poets in developing their skills in particular areas of poetry or performance. With my experience of mixed-media work through residencies at Cove Park and with Creative Carbon Scotland, I am available to organise workshops on the collaborative process, especially around how to integrate the singularity of each person's work into a creative piece as a whole. However, with all of the above in mind, the content of any workshops is open to discussion with the organisers beforehand. (Photo credit: Alan McCredie)
