I am a published, award-winning poet based in Edinburgh. I have given numerous poetry readings over the years, both in person and online. I wear various hats, though! I also write creative non-fiction, specialising in history (the Middle Ages in particular), screenplays, and short stories. I have appeared in television programmes on the Knights Templar, the Cathars, and Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky.

I have read at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, chaired events at the Festival of Politics, and appeared on panels at various festivals in Scotland. I hold an M. A. in Creative Writing from Edinburgh Napier University.

I have a particular interest in magic, mystery, the liminal, strange and weird. This is reflected in what I write, regardless of medium. I should add that I also work as a documentary filmmaker, and have made films about Scottish filmmaker Bill Douglas, and Scottish metaphysical fantasy writer David Lindsay.
