Stephanie Green's headshot

I am a poet, novelist and playwright. I am happy to give readings of my own poetry and also offer poetry writing workshops at any level. I have many years experience: primary schools (over age 7), secondary, A level in Creative Writing or poetry analysis techniques or adults at any level including university students doing BA or Masters in Creative Writing.

At primary schools I also offer a story-telling performance leading to writing workshops on topics such as myths, mythical creatures and legends, the natural world (ecological issues), and sound and shape poems or, in prior consultation with the teacher, topics on the national curriculum. I am happy to offer workshops for adults with special needs or disabilities.

I am interested in writing poems inspired by the other arts and welcome collaborations with artists, dancers or musicians. My themes are landscape, myths or love and poems from a woman's perspective. I am also concerned with homelessness and identity. Recently I have become obsessed with remote places and communities, particularly islands, such as Orkney, Shetland, St Kilda, Iceland and Ireland but also non-western cultures such as Bali and Japan.
