I am a writer of crime and mystery fiction, sometimes with elements of gothic and folklore and am very much inspired by the landscape around me. I write short stories, occasionally poetry and novels with my debut, Crow Moon, a gothic thriller published in March 2024. The book has been shortlisted for both the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize and the inaugural McDermid Debut Award at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate in 2024. The second book in the series about journalist Martha Strangeways, will be published in 2025.
I have attended many creative writing retreats, was a mentee for the Hachette Future Bookshelf initiative and have delivered creative writing workshops to leadership programmes in the NHS.
