I'm a disabled author and parent-carer. My debut memoir, All My Wild Mothers is published by Two Roads Books (2023). I've worked as a freelance writer and creative producer for 30 years, with a focus on positive change and social engagement. I have an MA in Poetry and over 30 years experience in facilitating creative sessions, mentoring, and live readings/panel talks. My work was long-listed for the Nan Shepherd Prize, Penguin WriteNow programme, and won a Northern Debut Award, Northern Promise Award, the Mother's Milk Writing Award, and the Andrew Waterhouse Prize. I've published five poetry pamphlets and have work in several anthologies.

In 1999, I founded Wild Women Press to offer a space for rural northern women to share their stories, working with 2000+ women. Since 2018, I've curated the #WildWomanWeb, an online project featuring wild women creators around the world.

I've worked collaboratively with digital producer Adam Clarke for 10 years. Projects include My Mother's House, featured recently at Southbank Playable Poetry Festival 2023, and Minecraft Life Hacks (published Quarto Books, 2019).

I've delivered talks/workshops on writing and apothecary/wild gardening, #MeToo, bereavement, chronic illness, caregiving, and using digital gaming as a platform for meaningful engagement.
